Good Friday and Joyous Easter Sunday
Today is the Friday before Easter Sunday, a very important day in Christian faith; a day on which the Crucifixion of Jesus Christ is commemorated. It is traditionally a day of fasting and penance. Easter, sometimes referred to as Pascha in Greek or simply Resurrection Sunday, is a holiday celebrating the resurrection of Jesus from the dead.
America is a melting pot of many cultures and religions. Many non-Christians do not see the connection of stores and homes filled with images of cute baby chicks, and even cuter baby bunnies, colorfully painted eggs, and egg hunt competitions. For the record, there is no Biblical connection to those festivities. However, Christians utilize those festivities and traditions as a way to connect with, encourage their children to embrace the faith, and have them participate in family-friendly Easter activities.
In addition, although there is nothing Christian about cute baby chicks, bunnies, egg painting and egg hunt; those are symbols of spring and new life. Easter Sunday is celebrated as a symbol of rebirth, new life, everlasting life; and is celebrated during spring when the world and nature happens to comes alive — and that is the second, symbolic connection.
We wish a Good Friday
and a Joyous Easter
to all of our clients, their family members,
and coworkers of Christian Faith.
